My Powerpoint Presentation

Here is my power point presentation targeted toward a year 7 class. Unfortunately, somewhere between creation and embedding it into my blog, I have lost all the sound and animation. I don't know how to fix this yet.

  1. Hi Natalie,
I really liked your ppt. I thought the use of statistics was a realistic way of showing students in year 7 how smoking fits into the world they live in.
I also congratulate you on the 'no holes bared' visual effects. Photos do paint a thousand words and if seeing these pictures stops just one student from lighting up then you have done a great job.
    Well done.

  2. Hi Natalie,

Great idea for a power point presentation. Well Done. (I don't think I will spend too much time with sounds and animations as it looks like most people are having trouble)

    Cheers,

  3. Hi Sally and Emma,
Thanks for the feedback. I was a little reluctant, at first, to put all the nasty photos in, but in the end, I decided that (1) kids have seen a whole lot worse - probably in games and movies (2) it represents the consequences of smoking that cannot be adequately described by words alone and (3)I remember seeing similar photos when I was a child and I have never forgotten it. So, if those images prevent some kids from starting up, then I make no apologies for it. My only concern is that kids are desensitised to such images that, in fact, they have no impact at all. Let's face it, these images are all over cigarette packets now, so you have to question if they are effective. But, at least for the set task, if kids think using these images don't work, it gives them a chance to come up with alternatives. Thanks again for the feedback. Regards,Natalie
